Dandruff

Howdy folks,
My little girl seems to have mild dandruff, is there anything I can add to her food? (Currently Blue Buffalo with a splash of olive/salmon oil)
Should i give her a bath with head&shoulders?
any other tips?

This is common in young Kai- usually the salmon oil takes care of it. But it is winter and if your home is dry (dry heated) then her coat may be drier than it woudl be other times of year.

(ps- do you know about Blue Buffalo being recalled? Check your bag and make sure yours is good!)

I was unable to find anything more recent than 2010 about a recall, do you have a source?

My bad- it was NOT a recall! It was a "series of complaints"- Facebook is so hysterical about things...I saw some Fuss over it and didnt look deeper since I dont feed it, when i saw your post I remembered the Fuss. If there's no current recall then GOOD! Sorry to alarm you. My bad!

@exempt - I think olive oil may not be great but salmon is good. Have you thought about buying the human omega3 type fish oil pills? They're usually sardine and anchovy but we've been giving a pill a day as a crate treat and the pups do well with it. Also, a humidifier might help.

I saw that post about the "recall" with blue and nutro. Im pretty sure half of those people have their dogs switch over to blue with no transition. And nutro sucks. Its corn!

Akuma had some dandruff so we started giving him salmon oil and use oatmeal shampoo.

Unrefined coconut oil. About 1tsp for every 10 pounds.

I think it's genetic in the US lines. I've tried everything on Koda this time of year and nothing works. :-/
