  • Another brindle (cheeky thing was hiding among a bunch of Kai!)

  • I love the black hokkaido and brindle ones! :) So beautiful
  • My first hokkaido girl was a nice black & tan!

On this photo (upper) is a bl&t and no black :-)

@Krisz b&t is just called 'kuro' (black) in Japanese. :)
  • OK :-)
but I have seen some black hokkaidos (on photos) and they were blacks, no black & tans.
  • @Krisz I heard/read of solid black in the Japanese breeds but haven't seen one yet! I'd be really interested in seeing them or learning more about it. :)

Here is a black hokkaido, it seems black for me :-)

  • @Krisz oh wow! He really is solid black! That's really cool! Do you know how black is inherited in Hokka? Is it dominant or recessive?
  • Sorry, I don't know it...
  • @Krisz Well thank you for sharing, anyway. I ask a lot of questions... :x
  • Oh wow! Now I want a black Hokka! (or any hokka really!)
  • Our 2 white "treasures" :x
Maru grows fast, he is 4 months old and almost is in same size than Seta!

  • The white's type is my favourite! Same than my 2 hokkas :-)))
  • I don't think I really favor any color over the next, but I like how clear I can see the expression on the red dog.
  • That black Hokkaido is awesome. @shibamistress Get one.

@Crispy You are my hero. All those pictures you found are great. :)
  • As I have seen: colored are from very different types... I know some Japanese breeders (in Hokkaido Island) and they have same types than white (upper) and my 2 :-)
Whites from Chitose bloodline are very similar type!
  • White hokkas are my favorite but honestly, I love them all. It's agony waiting for the day I can own one.
  • okiron Yeah, all Hokkas are great no matter the color. I hope you can endure to the day when you can import a Hokkaido. They're fun. :)
  • I wont be importing lol.
  • lol, OK. Whoops, my bad. Sorry.
  • @Rina.....well, if someone ends up breeding them here in the US, I bet a number of us will be lining up! :) :) :)
  • Love that solid black one very interesting.

The first B&T pic Crispy showed is beautiful.

Love your B&T hokkaido and your Seta and Maru are beautiful and growing well.

I love the B&T myself, but the red is very nice as well as the white.

What important for me is health and temperaments first then coloring.
  • @shibamistress psh someone doesn't pay attention to my Facebook posts. I'm moving back home in August. No need to import when I'm in the country of origin :P
  • So you'll be in Hiroshima then, Rina?
  • @okiron Oh, that's neat! Sorry, I don't do Facebook so I had no idea. There is definitely no need to import if you're already there. :) Good luck!
