  • BTW: I just saw that Dyson has a vacuum extension for dog grooming: image

My dogs would be afraid of it though, unless the hose is ridiculously far away from the vacuum.
  • Kirby's are crazy expensive and Kirby sales people are just flat out crazy. I would never buy one simple because I don't have the cash. I also have some questions regarding the sucking power of a bag vs just the little test filter they use.

I loved my wife's dyson but at it got older, so did the seals and it became a dust factory. I think for us a bag is the best bet even though it is an added expense.

I'll make sure to do a proper review of the miele when it gets here on monday. It has a HEPA filter but I ordered their Active Charcoal filter for pet duty and "that's a big duty" :)
  • @cdenney - Reston would be ideal... But anywhere in Ffax, Loudoun, or Arlington is up for grabs. The job hunt has been on for the "perfect" job for a couple of months now... Just waiting for a great offer. :)
  • its the shark navigator and i am super pleased by it.
  • I have a Miele. Greatest vacuum I've ever owned. I would have considered a Kirby but did want to contend with the sales people or the $1600 price tag. I've gotten too many mixed reviews on Dysons to fork over the cash.

I love my Miele so much and actually have an easier time breathing.
  • wow! @jessicaRabbit I know you loved your bissell healthy home a lot, so that's saying something!
  • Well, sadly my vacuum had to be replaced and although I loved it we decided it was time to upgrade to something that would likely last years so we went with the Dyson DC25 Animal. I LOVE this vacuum lol It's like magic. It is so easy to maneuver (it's a ball version), the hose is long and the suction on the hose... WOW! haha! It is easy to handle/carry and weighs about the same as my Eureka. It is a lot quieter and you can turn the rotating bar on/off to go from carpet to hardwood easily (just push a button). With all of this said and my love of this new vacuum I have to admit that we would not have purchased a Dyson if we hadn't found a great deal on one. We paid well under half the normal price for it so all around I am thrilled :)
  • @cdenney, I just kept watching sales, craigslist (you can find new in box by dealer if you're patient), amazon (found several refurbished ones for around $200+/-) but eventually I found one at a local store that buys truckloads of Wal-mart overstock merchandise and they turn around and sell it in their store. All of it is new in box. I was so excited when I saw the ad :)
  • That's super cool. I'm kind of jealous....I just noticed mine really may not be working anymore. I've been thinking that for about a year (and hey, it's old and abused!) but now it won't really suck anything up through the hose (though works ok if the hose is plugged into the full machine). So I think it's time.....Guess I need to watch too.

  • I have a Bissel one that is supposed to be good for Pet Hair too, and comes with an attachment to help get hair that is sticking on things OFF...and I believe brand new it was around 135? I've had no problems with it...had it for about 4 years now...
  • @shibamistress, it took me weeks and weeks to find a price we could live with lol We were continually working on the Eureka just hoping it would work just long enough for us to get a new one.
