Shiba in the City

Are there any city dwellers among us? I live in a highrise and don't have a backyard obviously. What have other owners done with their dogs and potty? I heard in Japan they litter train their Shibas due to limited space and cramped living situations. Have there been any owners who've successfully litter trained their Shibas?

    @NMW1982 We don't have much of a backyard either and have basically trained him to go on a patch of artificial grass, so I would think litter training should definitely be possible. Though we did start him off going fully outside. We just had to go on short walks every few hours.
