Shiba Inu on Trains (Japan only)

edited September 2013 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
Hello there!

Quick question, does anyone know anything about traveling with a Shiba Inu on trains in Japan? Has anyone done this successfully? What sort of bag/crate did you use? I'm looking more towards female Shiba Inu owners than males (since females generally tend to be lighter than males, but also due to the fact that I intend on getting myself a female), but don't hesitate to respond!

Trains in Japan, from what I have learned, permit dogs as a carry-on so long as they are in a crate that is 70 x 90 x 90cm (27.5 x 27.5 x 35.5 in), and so long as the dog + crate does not go over 10kg (approximately 22lbs). Is this reasonable for a female Shiba Inu?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question; just something I need to consider. :] Thank you!
