Tanuki, brindle JA. Aiko Kensha No Michi Go (SPAM!!!!)
• In one week this little guy will come home to stay with me and my shiba. He'll be 12 weeks at that time, really looking forward to having a pup in house :)

His name is Aiko Kensha No Michi Go, but as that is pretty long I'm thinking Michi or Tanuki (I kinda like Tanuki because I already have a Kuma.. animal theme ftw!)

So from the 6th or 7th of January Kuma is gonna be a big brother <3 Can't wait!
Aaaaa so cute! Akita puppies are just adorable.

• The first day they mainly ignored each other, pup could come smell him, but if getting to "much" he would give a small growl and pup would find something else to do. Yesterday they started playing, and they slept back to back until Kuma thought it was too much closeness (he IS a shiba..) and jumped on the bed which is the akita-free zone :p So I think they're doing pretty good.

Haha! At 1:19 Kuma is like, "Ugh, go away..."

The size difference is incredible, too. I forget how big Akitas are.
• Kuma is not really used to much social interactions (when dogs are visiting he likes to sleep in his "cave" to get away from them. Love his eyes here, they're like "omg omg, what do I do?"

13 weeks:

Tanuki had some runny poo and logically I thought it was just from the food-change. But a little voice in my head told me to go get dewormers, and don't you know... out came the wormsies. :s Pooping indoors is ok when you got a tummy-ache <3
• Oh, Kuma and Tanuki are so adorable!!! How does Tanuki get along with the pint sized pooches? They look like dacshund x tibetan spaniel.
• Thanks, @Esperchan :D
They get along very nice. The dachshund mix is the oldest one and doesn't really like to play, so usually he just sais "hi" to her, then leave her alone. He loves to play with the tibetan spaniel mix though(which I think is much more handsome than any tibetan spaniel could wish to be!), but he doesn't wrestle with him like he does with bigger dogs, they like to chase each other around. When we're out walking and walk past the building where they live, Tanuki will always try to pull me in there and will make very very sad noises when I just keep walking :)

So cute!! Can you estimate how many # are Kuma & Tanuki now?

Maybe :p I'm taking a guess and say that # means kg? Kuma is bw 11 and 12 and Tanuki is 17-18. Let me know if it means something else, never seen the # used in this context before.

So cute! They make a great pair. It must be neat to watch Kanuki outgrow Kuma!

It is :D I think that's the only ting that makes me realise he is growing, having someone to compare to.

Ah, sorry for the confusion, the hash key I commonly referred to as the pound sign in the States, I was curious how much your kids weigh in pounds ;-)

My shiba is about 10 kg/22# and looking very dinky next to my midget long coat JA. She's a few months older than Tanuki but weighs about the same. I'm convinced she's a midget long coat JA.

Great pictures! He's such a handsome pup, started off round and cute and he's growing quickly into his more angular young adult looks :) That last picture of the duo running is awesome! Love the contrast of the tight, lean Shiba run with the boxy, strong Akita run.

• Tanuki is breaking off into smaller parts, wonder if they'll grow into new akitas if I put them in the sun and water them regularly.. or does that only work with plants? Kuma seems to think so and is obsessively licking Tanuki's teeth (the few that are still inside his mouth):

He's cute! And those teeth are cool; if the next dog I get is a pup when I get him/her, I should totally try to remember to keep some of the teeth!
• It is still very funny to jump up to bite mom in the butt while we're out walking.. Don't need squeaky toys when I have one that's always with me :D She always say she can see it in my face when I'm up to no good... how does she do that?
photo P4077351_zps0ad48128.jpg

Second most fun thing I know is stealing toys from Kuma. He always let me do it because I'm a puppy! But yesterday he actually didn't let go of the toy so we had a little game of tug-of-war.. I would have won, but then I saw another toy just lying there on the ground, so I let Kuma keep his stupid kong.

photo P4077413_zps311b0522.jpg

Sometimes humom pulls out a treat, but instead of giving it to us she starts taking pictures! That is so MEAN and I have to make lots of akita-noises to make her know just what I think about that behaviour.. phew, humans are really hard to train!

Such a happy face! They make me wish I lived closer to the snow. They look so happy in it !
• Guess what?! This weekend was pretty special because my humom say it's 6 months since I was born. How cool is that?

We went to a new place (at least for me, Kuma knew his way around..) yesterday, but there were so many people having picnics and little kids running around playing football that my mom had to keep me on a leash while big-brother could run free! I was so jealous! Today she made up for it by taking us to our normal park where I could get out some built up energy.

I also thought it was a little bit too hot outside, but my mom brought lots and lots of water, so I was ok.

Here is a pic of me and humom, can you see how proud she looks? I would look proud too if I was so lucky to own me.. but hey, I AM ME!
photo P4147793_zpsd0127c50.jpg

There were some of the kids in the park that called me "farkas-kutya", which is "wolf-dog" in english. I don't look like a wolf, I'm a bear! A big, scary bear!
photo P4147809_zpsa467ab03.jpg

Oh, oh! I'm saving the coolest part for last. We were walking and suddenly I heard lots of strange noises, imagine my joy when I realised they came from my favorite prey - birds. Lots and lots of birds! I could stare at them all day. Today I even found a dead pigeon and proudly went to show it to my mom, but she only screamed (well, not really screamed, but it felt that way :( ) for me to "drop it".. humans got their priorities all wrong, it was a dead bird! *sigh*

• The diarrhoea was not due to food-change as I first thought. While on a morning walk I got sick of trying to scoop up water, got whatever I could in a bag and took it to the vet who sent it in for microbiology - oh yeah, he got giardia. So now he and Kuma are done with their first round of treatment, next wednesday they'll start their second round, hopefully we'll get it all.

If the hungarian kennel club can get their fingers out and accept my membership application then Tanuki will enter his first show ring on june 15+16, still as a puppy :) His breeder may join us with his sister.

• Yikes, I am already seven months old!

Last week mom gave us some nasty tablets to kill a parasite that was giving me runny poo, it is gone now and all is good :D

This monday my humom got a visit from someone she called hudad. Kuma the shiba was super exited to see him, he was even whining.. which was pretty cool 'cause he's usually a very quiet guy. So because Kuma was so happy I was happy too, but when I am happy the humans always start to say "auch" and "stop biting".. I don't get it. I love them with ALL my teeth and they're complaining?!

Anyway, here is a picture of me and hudad, you can tell we're best buds:
photo P5179781_zps5fecb224.jpg

After I hit what my humom calls "the teens", she has been keeping me on a leash. She says it is only until I remember what "come" means. I DO remember what it means, I just choose to ignore it. So she got a leash that can become long and short.. I don't think it is optimal but it is way better than being stuck on the short rope.

My humom is having what she calls an "exam period". I think it means something like "short walks, boring days and a humom that just sits in front of her computer all the time". Does not stop her from taking pictures of me though, because I'm super charming!
photo P5310188_zpsfec5423b.jpg
imageP5310099_zpse370b65d.jpg"/>

In only three weeks I will go on my first of many adventures! This one will be inside an airplane. My humom is a bit scared cause she doesn't know how I'll do.. To be honest I have no idea what it is all about. But my big bro say he's been doing it minimum four times a year since he was a tiny puppy, and when he says it's ok it must be ok.

photo P5259974_zpse8a1e828.jpg

After the plane lands my homom and big bro is gonna show me their "backyard". I think it looks nice:

• So my humom just told me that in two days I will be 11 months old! That means that one month from now I will get my very first birthday-cake!!! Can't wait :D

I've been doing lots of cool stuff over the summer, mostly running around in forests and mountains.. In august my humom took me to something she called a "dog show", it was great fun: mom started running around in a circle trying to get me to follow, so of course I did, and I only jumped up and bit her arm once..
Then the man who was looking at us run gave humom three colourful thingies that she did not want me to eat. One said: BOB Junior, the second said BOB and the third said CAC. My humom was really happy :D

photo P8172674_zps48695c33.jpg

I've also been in a boat for the very first time. I was a bit nervous at first and humom had to lift me in, but the second time I jumped in all by myself. That's how great I am!

Happy birthday little man :D

and awwwww.... does he do that every morning? My Toki will put his head on the bed and be super still except for waggin his tail. I've always wondered if that is an Akita thing.
• That is our little morning routine. When my alarm goes off I will grunt and turn it off. Tanuki will then come over and put his head on the bed. If I do not get up he will pick up a sock or a toy and give it to me (after taking a round in the apartment with happy ears going - yeeeey, mom is awake!!!)

• A couple of pics of my favorite brindle. He is the middle of blowing his coat. Fur EVERYWHERE!:

He is a pretty awesome dog. The only "issue" so far is that he will get the zoomies when we're out walking. When he's doing the zoomies he forgets that it is not allowed to chew on humom. So my arms have been pretty green and blue for some time now. Finally starting to get it under control and it getting easier and easier to distract him before he gets his speed up.

• Tanuki is still looking so handsome while blowing his coat!

Keiko gets the zoomies (love that name for it by the way :) ) too when we go on especially long walks towards the end when I think she is getting tired the last time she did it a pet store bag I was carrying and my leg were what she thought she would be fun to catch and chew on! I've been using the go find game with treats to distract her and that works most of the time; although there is the odd occasion when my legs must just look more fun :))
• @StefJackUk Yesterday we had almost an entire 1.5 hour walk without zoomies. Tanuki was doing so great. But when we got to the last block, Kuma got bored and nipped Tanukis ankles before I could stop him.. that got him going (but I was able to stop it easier than before). Stupid shiba :p Today he didn't zoom a single time!

And I think I found your instagram (mohaha, I'm a super-stalker!)!

• @paranoidparrot yes you did find ny instagram lol! As you can see im addicted to posting pics of Keiko :) I followed you back I recognised it was you!
• LOL Marita, you do realise that Tanuki's mom is called Zoomie/Zoom-Zoom :-)

• @white_bear Yes :p And guess what she did the first time I met her? Guess it must be in his genes. H

• Today I thought "why not try something new" and we went to a little dog park where they have a small agility-track. Tanuki thought it was super fun. Asides from the obstacles there are plenty of space to zoom around.. which both he and Kuma took full advantage of <3 I will definately go there more often.
I am trying to limit my "post photos on the net"-addiction. So here's the monthly 'nuki pic. On the outside, looking in:

• The last few weeks we've been visiting my family in northern-Norway. It's the "dark season" now where we have no sun between mid november and mid january, so it has been hard to take any good pictures :p

Tanuki have had lot of firsts. It was his first christmas with us, first time to open a christmas present (buffalo ear), first time to run around in deep snow, first time to see fireworks (and lowing it!).

Here is a picture of him from a walk in the forest outside of Oslo (eastern Norway) in the middle of december. He loved running around and was playing "foxhunt" with the shibas..

• He's beautiful! Love brindles :)
• So this weekend Tanuki participated in 4 CACIB shows. The two first days he was behaving like a kangaroo, but after the second round I got some handling help from one of the other akita-people there, and after that he started running like an akita.

First day - Excellent, 2nd place in intermediate class
Second day - Excellent, Res. CAC, Res. CACIB and 2nd place in intermediate
Third day - Excellent, Res. CAC, Res. CACIB and 2nd place in intermediate

For the fourth day the very lovely japanese boy that was taking 1st in intermediate had gone home, so now Tanuki got:
Excellent, CAC, CACIB and got to try himself in best male.. and we ended up with BOB! I was crying my eyes out as I exited the ring. The transformation over these few days was amazing.
