Dang, Fate has some stunning markings. He is one of the best looking Shikoku I have ever seen.
But Wraith... Man, I just might need to get me one of them Dutchies. He is oh so very nice looking. As much as I love the Nihon Ken, there's just something about dogs of his build that really strike me.
And yes, I would also like to know camera details. After the assisted suicide of my old digital, I am in the market for a new one.
Hubby got me a Canon 60d for our last anniversary so these were shot with that body. [ it replaced a 450d, which I will be giving to my father lol ] Lens was the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS, which while an AWESOME lens for Macro, SUCKS for photographing action of the dogs! Unfortunately for me, right before hubs got me the 60d, my favourite lens, & IMHO, the best for action, Canon 50mm f/1.4...broke! [ I dropped it :x ]
Really though, thanks guys. I was really not happy with these pics lol You would not believe how much time I spent post-processing!!! ~

Osy -- you are really critical of your photos! I would have been thrilled with this group of photos! But then I only dabble in photography! ;o)
Both of your dogs are adorable.
@MirkaM - Temperament wise...my boys are night & day. However, my shikoku is probably not the "typical" temperament for the breed so it's hard for me to compare lol I think a medium-drive Dutchie & a High-Drive Shikoku would be very similar.
@ttddinh - They actually come in three varieties
@brada1878 & @Edgewood - Yeah, his colours are weird huh? Lots of red in there...but lots of black too. His body looks more "brown" in person, but with random blots of red [ particularly on muzzle & ears ]

@tjbart17 - Sorry Tara, just saw this...yes, very excited. I actually hesitated posting his pic because of it! LOL But, it's hard to catch him NOT excited. He's a ridiculously happy boy. ~
You are too hard on yourself with regards to your pictures. I would be very happy with these! - Does that mean I am a hopeless amateur compared to you? LOL XD
My daughter says he looks like Reilly- but he's much lither than Reilly- fast and smooth and more streamlined. He's a handsome dog! I like his little white necktie- very dashing!
@Wryly Brindle - I think that's why, of your pups, Reilly is my fav :P She reminds me a lot of my boy! haha ~
I am really bad at photoshop (I only have elements, but still suck at it), so if I take crappy pics they stay crappy XD I need to take a course or something to learn...
