NK Mix?

I saw this dog around a few times, but we finally bumped into the owner (well the owner's Aunt who was walking the dog). The dog has a beautiful brindle coloring.

The lady walking the dog says her niece said that the dog is a Japanese Breed. I'm assuming it's a mixed breed. She said the dog was a stray that they found on the streets. Regardless, the dog was pretty :]

Hmm, I've seen a lot of Akita-mixes come through our rescue that looked like that.

Yeah I figured Akita-mix when I saw her. She was kind of small though. Barely bigger than Mika, Mika is only about 15 lbs.

Wow thats tiny. The mixes we had were in the 60-70ish range, so that's a big difference lol.

Looks like an akita mix allright, but it would be natural to assume whatever's also in her, is a smalle breed

the head seems kind of chow-like....maybe the brindle and short coat came from something else? hard to tell. She's cute though!
