Therapy Dogs

Do any of your pups work as therapy dogs?


Moto has shown such a talent at being so gentle and sweet with childern (even babies) and the elderly. He is so charming and happy and I was thinking about looking into that for him.


If any of you do it, how does one start? What is the certification process?

    Jen and I really wanted to get Kaia into Therapy dog training... we went and met with some trainers to get her into the class, but once we found out all that goes into it we realized she would probably not pass. She is afraid of bikes, umbrellas, and wheel chairs - all of which they use in the training.


    If you went to a local trainer I'm sure they could point you in the direction of a trainer that can give the class and test.

    You read my mind Jessica.  I was just talking yesterday that I would love our Akita pup (when we get him) to be a therapy dog.
